I talked to Skyllaney about that - they're making a lot of M-mount conversions including a standardised mount that multiple optics can be fit into. Apparently the LTM mount is considerably more complicated/difficult to machine than the M mount due to the mis-matching of metric and imperial elements, meaning most modern lathes simply aren't able to cut the threads correctly.
Such a shame, because I'd love this lens on a Barnack.

i dont know how similar it is to leica - its very different optical design. guess it will be more modern look. for me i shoot mostly night photos but i guess if super cheap i would consider it for sunny summer days as light and compact option.

The Summaron is a double Gauss lens - an ancient solution for wide angles.
The TTartisan belongs to the family of modern near-symmetrical retrofocus lens like the CV 35/2.5. In a word, they're modified Biogons.
It's related to the Summaron in the way the CV28/3.5 did...which is in style only. The later was modeled after the original 1955 Summaron. Curiously the two newer lenses are optically related as well.
They (TTartisan) really should have made it f/3.5.

It is a newly designed 28mm 5.6 lens. I am not interested in it. If someone like LLL made a replica of the Leica 28mm 5.6, that would be more interesting to you.

i dont know why people here always do this - i make topic about chinese lens and raid and co. always come and say - im not interested in this - i want just leica or leica copy and so on. please guys - it is not leica - let us talks pros and cons of having this lens. not being leica is not negative thing - do you say oh i dont like this new voigtlander lens because not leica. i see there is some anti-chinese sentiment here and i dont like it. please in future just ignore it...

$50 ? That has to be a mistake. Or, no? Just pre-ordered and paid for one at BH. Yes, $50. Glitch in the Matrix perhaps. So, we'll see how that goes. The 28/5.6 Summaron, new or old, is not an iota better than a good copy of an Orion-15, in any optical parameter, only handling, (seriously), so I was curious about this lens to start with. $50 seems...........affordable enough to take a flyer.

Yep, saw that $50 price too. Thought it might even be possible given that some of their other larger more complex lenses are in the sub C-note range. I bought the 50mm f1.2 in M4:3 mount for $98 from B&H. But then, that is a surprising 7 element in 5 group design. Seems like modern lens designs usually have more elements for that focal length and aperture. I’m sorely tempted by their 17mm f1.4 for my EM10. The 50 f1.2 has turned out to be better than I expected it to be. If I had a Leica then sure, at that price it would be a no brainer but at $300 would give me considerable pause.

Really? I don't hate the Orion, but wide open, it is insanely blurry/smeared in the corners. I've only shot the 35mm Summaron, but I find it hard to believe the 28mm one is comparable to the Orion.

I contacted B&H prior to pre-ordering one myself; they confirmed it's no typo. I thought for $50 it's well worth a look. The stock number leads me to believe it's the same as the chrome model ($300) in black.

Well, I did say, “good copy”. The pre-production orion-15s, and the very, very early production ones, both identifiable by serial numbers, are exactly that. There are tests available on the internet somewhere for verification. I have an early production one, and a nice condition, original 28/5.6 Summaron, and the Orion is decidedly sharper in the center, and equal at the edges, and pretty much identical in contrast, vignetting, and everything else. Film, or digital it’s hard to tell them apart, but the Leitz is definitely not better optically. The Leitz handling, though, is definitely better.
Somebody somewhere made a lens one time equal or better than the Leitz equivalent; weird, yet it happens. . I’ve never owned a later production Orion-15, but they seem to visibly be not really as good. There is a fair amount of information, or was, on the history of that lens, with optical testing, somewhere on the internet, though I don’t have the link off the top of my head. (A test that might not be as conclusive as owning both, but still possibly useful, is to look carefully over time at all of the several hundred samples on flickr of results from the Orion-15, and both the old and new 28/5.6 Summaron, and see if you don’t occasionally forget which page you are actually on.)
Your 35 Summaron, on the other hand is one of my favorite lenses.
