TTartisan 28mm f5.6

Sample photos look kind of humdrum in my opinion..the CV 28mm lens produces nicer results and is a bit faster too.

I had a look at few of the full resolution images. Lens seems reasonably sharp in the center and falls off to the sides, as one might expect. From my brief time trying the Leica 28/5.6 re-release in a store, there is some similarity in performance. I wonder if it has a bit of field curvature, too? Lack of edge color shift is promising. I also question the skill of the photographer, to a degree. The arcade facade looks like the lens was accidentally focused at 1m or closer. And poor exposures of some of the images: why shoot aperture priority in direct sunlight and invite underexposure in bright scenes when you can just leave it set to one consistent and correct manual exposure setting? It's not light the light is changing... 🙂

one of the articles online says that it comes with a case & the hood -
sure its slow at f5.6 - with a digital M you can turn the iso up to 1600 & still get great results
it interests me in its compact size & weight - 28 was always my most used focal length
so many of the lenses being made for Leica M are large & heavy - although f2 & f1.4 are a plus

I almost got thru watching that Matt Osborn video, first time too as I tried to view his videos before and his quick cuts and close-up of his face and his jerky nervous speech patterns just turns me off completely and I quickly stop watching his videos.

Your right, sometimes it's like he had too much coffee, there another youtuber that reviewed the lens and he really like it and even had it on a Canon R
and did video's and it look good.

I have a M8 and worry about raising the ISO in mine but I think ISO 320 might be okay. What do you guy's think?

I first thought at first that he might have a neurological problem causing spasms and speech impediment ..and I should be more tolerant of his affliction but the way he edits his videos full of fast jump cuts and the full face close up shots intermingled in says to me he is doing it deliberately...I don't know why he thinks this is somehow appealing to get more viewers and likes...not in my book...his videos are unwatchable to me as he gives me the heebie jeebies and I can never finish watching them, yuck !

I found the video gave an unvarnished honest review
he did point out the pluses & shortcomings -
he is British I believe - so the accent and the tempo are not the yin’s or youall
i grew up with
for me it was about looking at the work he did shoot
so many reviews are like glamour beauty shoots -like more slick advertiseing
& this and another review I found refreshing

The point people are missing is that the lens at f8 3’to infinity is in focus
so it’s compact wide angle - walk about - for quick from the shoulder shots
then again it is rf coupled for when you need accurate focus or want to set it up
for a certain way - I do find it interesting

He does all his reviews the same way he's good, I do like when he does a set up where he compares two camera's
at one time to test the sharpness and colors between the two lenses.

Look cool, I´m waiting for the E-Mount version they might release for half the price. TTartisan did the same with their amazing 50/1.4 ASPH that renders about the same as the M-Summilux. Impressive.
