Leicaforever, thanks, I appreciate your frank comment. I am a cosmopolitan and I don't believe in the concept of nations and borders. The country where I was born, Sweden, used to be inhabitated by the "indigenous" Sami people before we "Swedes" entered and claimed the territory. I don't blame all the people who claimed territories since I know the migrations of peoples were often driven by poverty or persecution, but I believe we as humankind were all blessed with this planet and we should share it and make sure every human being during her lifespan can claim a piece of land to use in a way mindful of the vulnerability of the environment we live in and rely on for our survival. We don't own anything in this world. We are merely blessed to enjoy the goods of life created for our pleasure and well being. Nations and borders have always led to greed, mistrust and an endless number of wars. As long as all these nations and borders exist, someone is always going to be on the wrong side of the border.
I greatly like the people of Turkey whether they are Turks, Arabs, Kurds, Assyrians, Circassian, Roma or what else and the last thing I would like to do is to insult anyone. I hope you understand my point of view. I refer to Kurdistan as a description of an area where people are generally Kurdish. There are such areas in Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Armenia and Azerbaijan and in both Iraq and Iran there are Kurdistan provinces. Sadly Kurds are facing great hardship in all countries although the situation in Iraq improved vastly. By acknowledging the problems of the Kurds we put pressure on politicians to improve the situation of the Kurds. I know much redemption has in fact occured in Turkey between Kurds and Turks, although rarely reported by the media, but there are still major problems that need to be addressed and solved.
