First is, I received a like new 35mm Alpa-Curtagon made by Schneider last week for the Alpa 6b. A test roll clearly shows it to be an outstanding lens, I do like it.
Second, today I received my Exakta Varex lla back from CLA and shutter curtain replacement and wow! It looks as good as brand new! Can you tell I'm excited? I have to load it with a test roll to check everything out. If all is well I will post the person's name who did the job for me. So far I'm very pleased.

It has nothing to do with your post but after just 4,403 posts of you I noticed that you have a picture of one of my favorite musicians near your name and from your age you could have been the one taking that photo. Did you do? If so wooOOOOoooow!!!

You shoot Alpas? Those are some fine machines...

Also, where in NorCal are you? I'm assuming that means Northern California... I must say that my second visit to your state was incredibly pleasant and photographically productive (San Francisco, Monterey, Big Sur). I wish I could say the same about my first, which was to San Diego...

In any case, congratulations on the new toy, and on the return of your prodigal camera! :)

giellaleafapmu and 35mmdelux: yes that is Thelonius Monk and no, I didn't take the photo. It was an album cover I copied and use here as a tribute to a fine, fine musician. I've been around a long time in the jazz scene and was fortunate to see Thelonius and also Coltrane here in San Francisco way back in the 50's.
Francisco- yes I love the Alpa and the Exakta. Both are quirky cameras to work with but I just like how they look and feel in my hand. The lenses for them are extremely good. I followed your trip here on RFF and am pleased that you enjoyed that trip. There is a lot to see and experience here and down a south a little as you mentioned. Thanks for your comments, I appreciate them.
