It is possible on the Xpan II so I guess it is possible on the TX2 also.

Yep i have mine (TX-2) set up so i can rewind with the leader left out (you access it in the mode menu) as that's where i write my film indent info. But can't do this on my Xpan 1.

Make your choice by switching the camera from OFF to S while holding down the MODE button on the camLCD. A cassette symbol accomanied with the text OUT or IN will be shown. Select with the ^ / V buttons as you prefer. Confrm by pushin gthe release button halfway. A cassette symbol illustrating your choice will now be shown on the display.
