That's pretty awesome. I'm still thrilled to have received the $300 US kit discount. Plus, a Fujifilm filter and spare battery for $3. I can't complain...

Yes, but the purchase price is generally always quite a bit higher due to the rate of exchange.
Undoubtedly the worst deals are always in mainland Europe

The mainland Europe gear prices are crazy! Last year I was looking to buy the CV15 f4.5. It was a good $200 cheaper to buy online from cameraquest, including shipping + customs, than it was to buy one in Switzerland or Germany! :bang:

UK prices for photo gear has long angered me, and I'm by no means alone! Quite often the USD price is the same digits as the UK price, which is grossely unfair to put it mildly!
Unfair UK pricing goes across the full board of photo products,...typically Adobe was a classic 'offender' until very recently with identical price figures in both USD and Pounds, thus forcing UK buyers to pay nearly TWICE the actual price!!
A few years back when Canon launched it's "first DSLR under 1000 dollars" it also launched in the UK as "first DSLR under £1000".....at the time there was 2.2 USD to a pound.... At the time the 'Amateur Photographer' magazine recieved sacks full of protests but brushed it off with completely fatuous statements including the false and spurious claim that "UK consumer laws are better and need to be paid for"...etc, etc.......
'AP' could have helped focus the UK photo communities anger and helped but it prefered to think of it's advertising revenue,.....I have never bought a copy or looked at one since and I never will again......

UK prices include VAT (20% tax) do the US prices also include sales taxes?

Depends.
If u buy mail order from an out of state seller in most cases the answer is no... But if that seller has any presence of any type in that state then he may be forced to add sales tax such as California forcing Amazon to charge their sales tax if they are shipping the product to an address in Calif...
In general, I do not believe that there is a state in US than 9%.
