Uber.com

I'll take them at their word that location won't be a factor in the decision.

Now I don't get it. Is it a random selection or is it a decision based selection? Anyway ...

Chris and Nhat maintain that the contest is open to anyone.

I saw that & I said: Let's play!:)
But, after I added Chris as a friend, there was no little Leica in my profile(beside other friends). I've noticed that some people who are not from U.S. have little
Leica photo in friends section ... Am I in the game ???

According to one of Nhat's recent blogs, Those people that have the Leica are just doing it for show - it doesn't affect the contest.

The ONLY criteria is that you have Chris as your friend.

I can't figure out how to add Chris as my friend. What a dumb site and even dumber promotion. I thought all I had to do is join. Wasn't that the original requirement?

If you click on the green box here on RFF, and then the page comes up with the blonde chic and the M7 asking you to join, All you have to do is sign up and you are entered. When your page comes up you will notice several friends, Chris is one of them. All you have to do is click on Chris and his page will come up and you will then see the header ADD FRIEND. Click on that and you will be added. Pretty simple.

Stupid marketing gimicks that put me off.

Basically, he wants the most people to join, create somekid of a buzz and probably sell the site. IMO.

yes...yes it is.... no offense.
Myspace is about the stupidist thing on the net today. It is passe' with the kids, but I think it persists because people don't bother to remove their profiles.

Uber definately improves on Myspace, without actually improving on it -- if you know what I mean.

If the RFF engine, vBulletin, worked a little more like Wikipedia, we would have a perfectly ideal site right here.

I agree that Myspace is a POS to look at. However, the sheer number of active users there is mind blowing. If you want to market something to that specific age group, it's a great tool. This fact, you can't argue against.
