It may be my imagination, but seems to me that prices are creeping up on vintage canon gear.

Wow!
I have noticed the same thing, especially on Canon P's.
Maybe this will bring Leica and Nikon prices down.

Yes, and recent studies seem to indicate the moon is made of green cheese......
We know why some people would like to see Nikon prices come down. Come to think of it, I wouldn't mind trying an SP. Particularly if I bought it for less than $100. Just as much chance as buying a P for $50. Certain cameras have caught the interest of enough people to make the supply of nice ones scarce, the rest is economics. I've noticed a surge of activity in Contax RF's in the past few months. Prices are all over the place, some quite high, comparatively. When the supply dwindles a bit more, voila... another P situation, perhaps.
There are enough of us here to cause a blip in price of scarce cameras. Nice examples of the early to mid-age RF's like the P aren't common, ala Kodaks. Look at what has happened to the Canon 50/1.8 and 1.4. Pricey, indeed, compared to a couple of years ago, a reversal of the trend downward in film cameras generally. Quality and popularity make a big difference. And wait till the book comes out.... another blip, I betcha.
