Uh oh, Tri-X 400 in D76 developed with HP5+ specs!

Yes! I'm an incorrigible troublemaker and I noticed right after developing my roll of 400TX that I used the time sheet of HP5+ ... so far the film seems ok and I can't wait for it to dry so I can see exactly what's up. As usual I took the photos using sunny f16.

I used D76 stock and souped the 400TX for 7 minutes 1/2, using the HP5+ time development sheet (I'm definitely absent-minded).

That`s only 30 seconds less than the time listed Kodaks in D-76 tech sheet. Your film will come out fine.

I have used D 76 at 1:1 for Tri X and HP 5 and used the same dev. time & temp. for each, this last 33 years and never had any problems.

For a photo class, I was to compare two film/ developer combinations with the same subject matter. I chose HP5 and Tri-X, both in Rodinal. Not only could I not tell any difference between the two 8x10's, my very experienced instructor couldn't either... I've come to view the two films as interchangeable.

Woh, sounds good! It will sound silly but since my thermometer is broken, I develop using current room temperature, which is around 18°C i'd say. So that's allright, I checked Tri-X development tables and film came out allrightie 🙂
