UFE 400 pushed to 1600, HC110 1+31 11mins, 35 Biogon ZM

Nice shot, blan01! I like the figure in the corner. I haven't tried pushing this film yet, but your results look great. Pretty clean, even for a push to 1600.

Thank you, I push this film a lot and the results are pretty good. Give it a try maybe you'll like it

I saw your recipe for ISO 1600, 11 minutes in HC-110 1+31. Massive Dev Chart has a suggestion of 9 minutes, but sometimes those times can't necessarliy be trusted... Any personal recommendations for just a one stop push to ISO 800 in the same developer/dilution? Thanks in advance!

I did try 9 mins following the suggestion from MDC, for my iflord stuff, MDC suggestion are very reliable, however when I tried 9 mins to pushed this film, it's a bit underdeveloped in my opinion. So since then I have increase to 10 later to 11, and it have worked for me, but my "11 mins "includes adding the developer and pouring it out so it's more like a 10:30.

Thanks for sharing the details, blan01! I'll have to give that a try some time.

I use Kentmere 400 and it seems it's the same of UFE400. I didn't know IT.

Bere you have an example:

Nice photo, Shab! I've not shot any Kentmere 400 myself to compare, but a lot of people suspect that it's the same film. Of course, nobody at either Photo Warehouse or Harman has confirmed as far as I know. This person did a side-by-side comparison, and the results are very similar. I would probably be fooled in a blind test:

This blogger digs into it even more, by looking at the bar code number on the Photo Warehouse factory cassettes. He found that the code also shows it sold as Kentmere 400:

Seeing that bulk rolls of Ultrafine eXtreme 400 have been out of stock for months now, I may try a bulk roll of Kentmere 400. It's a bit more expensive - $59.95 at B&H compared to $44.95 - but at least it's in stock and available for purchase.
