Dunno if it's already widely known, but CV updated their Japan site. Looks like the 28mm f/1.9 and the 50mm f/2.5 and the Double Shoe Adapter type A are now also discontinued.

Wondering what will be next ? 28/2.5 ?
Still wondering why you asked us about fast wide angles once ...

Combine the size of the slow (3.5) discontinued 28mm with the speed of the fast (1.9) now discontinued 28mm into a single lens in M-mount and I won't shed any tears. Split the difference around 2.5 or so and make the contrast fall between them as well and I'd be very happy. Save me from buying the 28mm Elmarit.

if anyone is considering a future M8 purchase then it might be a good idea to pick up the ltm lenses while you still can, as you can use the John Milich LTM adapters which are pre- milled for easy M8 coding. i learned about all this from Sean Reid in this thread: www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/digital-forum/19444-cv-lenses.html

I wonder if Cosinas involvement with producing stuff for Zeiss has anything to do with some of the withdrawals, i.e. removing some of the competition.

I wouldn't assume withdrawals. More likely conversions to M-mount - as was already done with the 21/4, 25/4, & 35/2.5.

I hope they are going to put out m mount versions of these lenses retooled for closer focus, more speed, whatever....I hate ltm adapters, what a pain.
