I agree - a totally crap box and butt-ugly camera styling.

Thank goodness that the camera itself actually out-performs every digital camera I have ever owned (even the one in my pciture - left).

Not at all ... personally if I've wasted good money on a premier brand product I expect some of it to be squandered on redundant packaging ... how else am I supposed to justify the purchase?

Leica have tried to be fair by supplying a redundant camera (M8 etc) ... is that not near enough for you?
 
... well the special editions aren't bad but the ordinary ones fell way short of even what Nikon were doing with their new RF's

Surely you can spare a minute or two to photograph this piss-poor packaging that you're wingeing about? You should man up and post some illustrative shots instead of starting such a thread and leaving it hanging. How are we to judge without evidence?

I'd complain loudly to Sigma. Mine came with a special gift.

An exotic dancer popped out of my box...yes, she was female.
Hmmm, she looked female.
How they did it, I wasn't about to ask. ;)
 
Of course, if you had bought it from a proper camera shop, it would have been delivered by a man in morning coat and top hat, wearing white gloves, who would have placed it on the table in front of you with the care of an archeologist handling a Pharonic scroll.

I mean, packaging. Just how crass can one get?
