Continuing my Youtube Adventures! I was sent a 2nd generation (the New Canonet Series) Canonet QL17 right before my health took a turn for a worse last spring/early summer. It arrived in remarkably good condition, still in its original box and packaging. I thought folks might enjoy unboxing it. I know I had never had the chance before myself.

Here it is:

Let me know what you think.

Hey Mudman. Just got by Canonet and I was checking your Youtube video. Thanks for all the information. Really helpful!
I have a few questions that perhaps you could give me a hand as last time I got an analog camera was more than 20 years ago.
- Do you know where I can find the Manual Instruction you showed in the video? It will help me to understand how to make the exposure meter work. I tend to believe that the battery is not working as it does not move and it stays at the top.
Thanks a lot for the information.

Mudman has not been on RFF for a while.

Online manual. Note the Meter only works on Automatic, and turns off on manual exposure.
Also- the wire under the battery compartment can break off, due to corrosion- and might need repair. That was true on one of mine.

Truly appreciated all the shared information! I already bought a new battery as seems it was not working. Thanks again :)

First..........make sure you are in a lit environment
Second......When on "A" and the needle not moving , turn the shutter speed towards the lowest speeds

Seems obvious but just try if you haven't yet.
