Hello,
Newly I began to work with Heidelberg drum scanner (Tango, Tango XL, Primescan 1200) to scan negatives and positives (both color & bw), the software I use to control the scanner is the Heidelberg NewColor 7000 5.0.
Sometimes I scan negative in parts and here starts the problem:
when I stitch the parts together, often, I encounter differences in colors and huge differences sharpness (one part is sharp the other one is blurred, out of focus) between the parts.
Now if the color differences are almost always easy to correct the sharpness differences are a annoying.
I performed various tests without success, I mean, without achieving any consistency in my results.
I didn't found any documentation online on how I can set or affect the focus system.
What I would like to know is:
-how can I scan 2 masks with the same focus point?
-how does the focus system works?
-how can I avoid differences (color too) between 2 portion of the same negative?

No experience with the Heidelberg drum scanner, but interested how you proceed. Below is a link to a comparison between the Tango and an Epson flatbed (no connection with the below individual).
