This has nothing to do with rangefinders. And film rangefinders were never adapted for use underwater photography.

But I wanted to just show you guys what kind of gear is used underwater... I have a few different videos showing underwater equipment -

Nauticam Housing for the Canon 7D
Peterson/Gates Housing for the Hasselblad SWC.

If you guys think you have GAS... you have no idea the amount of GAS I have for underwater equipment...

A little research may prove you wrong. I've seen pictures of Leica underwater housing adapters (Hugyfot, Seahawk, Photomarine, Elcan and maybe more), but I'm too lazy to check details.

Cheers,

Simple: Nikonos

I have a Nikonos (which I bought in 1970) and it was a GAS attack. I learned my lesson: which is how much time do you spend underwater. I guess if you are going to make money at it is great, but I wasn't. I also have a Canon AS-6 (maybe the worse Canon camera ever made), but at least it still works.

The Nikonos is the best I have and I still use it once or twice a year, but I could have lived without either camera. So, I have no more GAS, except I'm thinking of a Mamyia 7ii. What do you think?

The nikonos works well as a street camera as well.
+1
Nikonos

When I was much younger only camera I ever brought to places like Caribbean, Tahiti, Hawaii, and other snorkeling/diving locations used it in and out of the water.

The 35 and the hard to find 28 that was land only but weather resistant as opposed to the normal 28.. ,

If u only snorkel and go no deeper than around 10-15 feet in 35mm, the Minolta weathermatic dual is a good one.

Today there are a ton of options out there...
