What is unified vision and how important is it? Can you have it without knowing? Is it the same as style? Does it mean all of ones pictures have to have the same subject/topic?

It means that instead of randomly shooting anything, you have an artistic goal that you're working on. A project, which can be a lifetime's work, or one of many that you do in your life.
