I know that this question has been asked previously, probably many times, but once more won't hurt. I recently received a EX+ Black GT Yashica, but before I start taking it apart to check for electrical contact continuity, when I open the back and click the shutter it clicks but the shutter doesn't move.

Is this a rod adjustment issue or something in the lens which isn't functioning properly? Any good advice out there? I can use it as a parts camera, but with the body in such good condition I'd like to get the lens functioning properly before I tear into it.

I've checked out several different sites to see what the problem could be, but here's very little information regarding this problem. :bang:

The shutter blades may be stuck together, this can happen if the camera has sat for a long time without being used. You can add a drop or two of lighter fluid to the shutter blades to free them up. You need to remove the front lens elements to get to the shutter blades. This is not difficult to do if you have a few tools. A compass or rubber stopper can be used to remove the trim ring from the front of the lens, and a lens spanner, improvised tool, or long needle-nose pliers can be used to unscrew the front lens element group.

An improvised tool or needle nose pliers will indeed work. But be careful they don't slip off onto the lens or mar the slots. Nothing more disheartening that to want to get into something only to find the slots have been rounded.

Don't mean to scare you at all, just advise caution.
