Some of you might remember this thread: Does this camera worth one of your prints?

http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20120

Here is a small update.

Just got a PM from Jing saying:

"Hello (xxxx), just want to let you know I got the Vito and your print today. The print is going out on Thurday to your address via USPS. By the way, the Vito is great. I opened it up, and did some alignment, mainly the take up spool. Other than the frame indicator which doesn't move when I am advancing film, everything else appears to be working. I am running a roll through it right now. Can't wait to see the results. Hehe, thanks a bunch, and hope you will enjoy the print too. - Jing"

I asked Jing to post some pictures as I am dying to see what comes out of it. I hope he does.

I think I have some other "junkers" around so I will do this again soon.

Cheers.

You know, I'm not getting anywhere with selling my Canonet 28...I have one more person to ask and then I think I'm going to do something else with it. This sounds like a wonderful idea.

Stephanie,

Sorry to hear that. Canonot is a great camera and I am sure you can ask for two prints. 😉

It definitely sounds sensible to do it this way. You got your print of choice and your fellow photog. got the camera for future project. World goes all the way around.

Good luck with your selling. But most of all, hanging in there. All will work out.

And how is your crazy project going?

Which crazy project? The pinhole is on hold until I can get to Fort Dodge to get the supplies. The self portrait project is no longer really on hold, but I'm waiting until I get another camera...don't ask. The street level project is going and I'll have results in the first part of April.

Didn't know you got so many projects going the same time. 😉

I only noticed a thread and am aware your pinhole project. Not that I can help in anyway as I have no idea with the languages you guys were talking about. But wish you good luck with it.

And of course other projects as well. Street level sounds good. And if you combine street and pinhole, that will be really something...

Trading camera for a print is really a great idea. It's a fun experience. For sure I am going to post some pics from the vito. Even if the camera doesn't work out well, I'll still keep it as trophy for winning WTL contest #1 🙂

That's the spirit. 😛

Well, I got my first roll of Vito shots back. They were shot on Fuji Super HQ 200, and scanned on a Nikon 4000ED. Other than a few double exposures (somehow the shutter fired, but didn't disengage the spool lock), the pictures come out really well. It's a soft uncoated lens, and the pictures really show off that vintage look. I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of these pictures. I uploaded 6 of them, check them out:

Jing, These are beautiful. I am glad that the camera is put to use now. I can tell it is in good hands. Enjoy and please update the life of it from time to time. Cheers.
