Updated my site with new photos

I visited your site, Bertram, as soon as you posted the link to it, and thoroughly enjoyed the images - excellent! - especially the colour ones (always my weakness).
The only thing I missed was some text accompanying the photographs to indicate where exactly they were taken; I always wonder.

Lynn,
thanks for looking and for the friendly compliments. 🙂 The text, well actually I've given up any kind of text in my own gallery, I avoid even titles or geographical notes. I was criticised already for that, the site would be "dry" or "flat". I won't change it either, maybe I made it this way because I am a bit tired of all photo talk at the time ? Spent too much time in forums and galleries.
What does not mean that I would not appreciate every comment or remark via the Email link on the site.

It's about photos only, they shall stand alone, and if it should turn out for me they are not good enuff for that they must go.

Especially travel photos, loaded with text, get something like these terrible slide shows we know from our youth 😉
I showed these slides recently my old parents, and had a kinda deja vu, like 30 years ago, went like this:

cradatch! (says the projector)
This is Crail !
Aha. Crail ? Where is that ?
Show you the map later.
cradatch!
This is crail too !
Hmm, nice.
cradatch!
This is St. Andrews !
Ahh ? How nice ! Is it near crail ?
More or less.
??? You must show me that o the map !!

Yes , and this St. Andrews too.
Hm. Something special there ?
University, very old .
How old ?

Grmpf, what a pity !

Oh really !?, looks abit like Crail !?
No, it's Stonehaven.
Are you sure ?
YESSS !!!
cradatch!
This is ....
How many have you shot in total ? 150 ?! My goodness !! Isn't that a bit exaggerated ?
No.
This is..
Wait a minute, let's get us all new drinks !
This is...
Yes, please another beer for me, honey !!
What did you say , where was this one ?
Dundee, the old port.
Hm, I like Crail more.
cradatch!
This is ..............
uhh, this beer is not cold enuff !

Bertram,
I had not seen any of your site before now. There is lots of work there to enjoy.
And, as much of a gearhead as I am, I do like the minimalst approach you've taken.
I looked first at the "Scotland April 2006" images and two that stand out to me are #s 10 and 16 of the black and white collection.
The "Winter" part of Down The River will need some more time from me.
Thanks for sharing these!
Rob

I love the description of the slide show, brought back memories of showing slides to my mother.
CLICK
Thats the Kremlin
Mother - what is that lady in the corner doing.

Now its me who falls asleep at slide shows, not appreciated at the Camera Club, especially when I snore

Nicely done Bertram, great work! I'll have to take another spin through when I get home but I really like your site design. It's kind of fun to look at photos without captions, it lets your mind wander and see the image without any preconceptions (well, at least my mind anyway).

Point taken, Bertram - and many of your images are already in Galleries with indicative titles - but, for instance: Trips and Travels>Colour....Where was that landscape taken?

The house is in the old town of Palma de Mallorca, the other one near the town I live, a place where I take a walk from time to time.

Best,
Bertram
