Used M8 how many shutter actuations.

Dear RFF members,
I bought a nice used M8 at the Leica store, the seller told me that he can not tell me how many shutter actuations this M8 already have made?:bang:
Is there some way to determine the total number of shutter actuations on an M8?

well firefox was just one option. Do it through CS3 and get the exif that way

I'm amazed that a store selling a used Leica M8 would not be able to tell a potential customer the number of shutter actuations!

M8Info (http://www.soens.de/swpage/swpage.html) works fine with DNG and original JPG files.
Exif Viewer (http://regex.info/exif.cgi) can do it as well. Look for "Image Unique ID" in the exif data, copy the hexadecimal number and paste it in a converter like this: http://www.statman.info/conversions/hexadecimal.html.

OK the last post is the best for me, it realy amazing you don't have to install software just web based, it tells me that my M8:
00000000000000000000000000001449 Hexadicimal
and 5193 Decimal.
So now I'm real happy

I don't know the outfit. Are they a Leica dealer? Anyway, it is the camera that counts.

Yes, they are Leica dealer, but by introducing the digital camera's they only sell Leica's cheap click clack camera's and the normal SLR camera's from Canon and Nikon, so I'm looking for a bigger dealer with some nice used M lenses, any suggestion in NL
