Used Nikon SB800 checklist

i'm looking to buy a used nikon sb800 - while testing it out, what are some things I should make sure work? give me a checklist

Make sure it is not in 40 pieces and taped together with electrical tape.

Seriously, just turn the thing on and see if it flashes with the test button. Don't be a nut job worry wart with "checklists".

Provjeri koliko treba da se odradi ciklus punjenja za najvecu snagu bljeska, dali se odredjena strana flasha pri tome ne pregrijava u kakvom je stanju sama glava i zglob (da ne skripi i nema nekakc otpor prilikom namjestanja kuta ). I naravno prva stvar sto mi se pokvarila - "SEL" dugme.

Agreed. Most of the damage on flashes I've ever seen was impact damage due to drops - check that it works, doesn't rattle, is not missing parts and does not have significant chips and dents, and you'll be fine...

Check that the built-in wide flash adapter isn't broken. Supposedly the most vulnerable part of the SB800, as Nikon put in a custom setting called ''Zoom-head position setting if the built-in wide-flash adapter is broken off accidentally (p. 117)"..
