User M3 and lenses at local camera store

For all you Madison residents, I (a Calif. resident) will ask how far all this is from the capital building or from Bascom Hall (if it's still there) . I attended an institute for foreign language teachers at UWM during the summer of 1963 - my only sojourn to Wisconsin.
 
In '63? About 5 miles west-southwest from the Capitol as the crow flies. The area would have been corn fields and dairy pastures then. If you went out of town to the west on Highway 12 you would have passed the fields where it was to be just before going past Middleton.

I wasn't around then (born in '63... :eek: ) but I have seen pictures of the area.

Glad to hear the crow still flies - and there's nothing wrong with corn fields and dairy pastures, as long as WI wants to be known for cheese. They might even throw a few goats in. True, none of this has anything to do with beer, but Milwaukee can have that. Happy shooting.
 
William, so you were born after 1963? You're a spring chicken! I'm a 1959 vintage... just one year older than one of my Summicrons!

There's a chance that I go to Madison in late April. I'll keep you informed! Maybe we can go check out that store together! I'm willing to give it a second chance... :)
 
Sounds good. Hopefully they won't embarrass me... :eek: Perhaps a little focusing fluid and street shooting on State Street as well?

Lots of young ones here, eh, DLL927? But then you'll consider me too a spring chicken. Only 4 years older than the M3.
