... likes film again.
... the photos in this thread are all very good and convincing, indeed. I like especially the first one in Todd's series and the one that Keith took.

...if preserving detail was really important at large print sizes (>8x10), i'd think about the summicron...
Have to agree, but the Summarit brings much if not all the compactness you're hoping for in a lens with a signature more like the 75 you're using now. I found that the CV 75 couldn't keep detail over 810 anywhere near what I want, the Summarit is much better in this regard from everything I've seen from it. I'd say go for the Summarit.

My 75mm 2.5 Color Heliar with an M mount seems to always bring up the 135/35mm frame in my 0.72 M6 TTL's viewfinder rather than the 50/75mm frame. Is this because there is a missing metal component on the lens' mount?

Oooops! I just discovered that my 75mm Color-Heliar does not have an M-mount base; instead, I had a Voigtlander 35/135 screw-mount to M-mount adapter screwed onto it! I've not used the lens for a long time and that is the basis for my error. I just unscrewed the 35/15 adapter and screwed on the correct one and now my M6 TTL reveals the correct framelines.

Not a focal length I use a lot, but I absolutely love what the lens does for the money ($200 slightly used):

Looks like one negative; about ten or eleven endorsements; and a couple of lukewarm responses. Well, not bad! Thanks for all the comments so far.

It's funny ... 90mm seems to be one of those lenses you tell yourself you should own and use but never do!
I have two in the cupboard which haven't seen daylight in a year now ... an f2 Summicron and a Tele Elmarit. I used the Summicron a couple of times and thought ... "Wow that's nice, I should use that more!" Never have though ... but I really like my 85mm Zuiko on my OM's and use it quite a lot!![]()
Keith, that's because your M3 remains sitting on a shelf. Try the 90 on the M3. Very cool.
75 works well with 35 or 40.
90 is best with 50/28. MHO.
Rob, the 75/2.5 Heliar is great. Another positive from me.

The best camera is one that still works!

That's so true Roland ... when I did use my 90mm Summicron it was on my M3 and it was a match made in heaven I must admit!
Are you suggesting I take my M3 out of the cupboard and actually use it?

some nice photos. I have owned four 90mm's and a 75mm VC that I sold and then regretted doing so. I am still pondering a light 75mm to go along with my 28mm & 35mm ASPH's when travelling.
