In my search for a cheap viewfinder for my MIR I have came across the Kodak Retina Adjustible viewfinder. It appears to adjust from 35mm-80. There always seem to be a few going on ebay for a fair price and I was wondering if any of you have used it before. Having shot a few rolls with my MIR, I find myself constantly cutting things off and leaving large chuncks of space. Framing is quite difficult since there are no framelines that the eye can see, so I need a 50mm viewfinder.

If any of you have used it, does it only go from 35 to 80 or does it stop somewere in the middle so that I can easily find 50? Any information would help, or if you just have some advice to help me find a cheap finder that would be great too.

You really should get the external turret finder made for the Ukrainian/Russian rangefinder/viewfinder cameras. It covers and has separate settings for 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 135mm, and has parallex correction, and has good eyeglass relief and sells on popular auction site for $60 or less. It is better than some Leica finders, as it doesn't reduce the image size for the telephoto lenses, rather it magnifies, so all lens settings have the same big view.

If you don't want to bid, there are several on-line sellers that regularly list these.
