This might be kind of silly, but has anyone else who shoots with a bessa noticed that you can't use your nose to steady the camera? I got a bessa after using a slew of fixed lens rangefinders and I got used to the steady, secure feeling of pressing the camera against my nose to steady a shot. I felt rock solid like that, down to even 1/8th could give a halfway decent pic.

I then got a bessa r, and if I try the same thing, I can't see rangefinder patch (I can barely see through the viewfinder at all), and I feel like im just hanging the camera out in the breeze when I shoot. This is also the reason why I don't like the digital camera screens. I can't brace the camera against my nose while composing. Same thing with SLR's.

Im actually more upset about this than I thought, and have gone back to shooting with an electro GTN for the time being. Am I alone in this? is my face just not the right size for the bessa?

What kind of crazy nose do you have? 😱

Maybe if you tried shooting with the left eye, then that would relocate your nose.

Or perhaps you could come up with the ultimate Bessa accessory, a nose cradle/grip/stabilizer. It'd go over like a lead balloon, I'm sure of it 🙂

Just a normal nose, shoot out of my right eye, press camera to the left.

Oh well, I guess its just me. But come on, there's gotta be someone out there who can commiserate?
