The Peaceful Pacific
Whether using my Bessa R or Fed-2 with a 50 lens, I often like to have the CV 75mm dedicated finder in the shoe. This helps me with framing. The rear of the V/F sits flush with the back side of the camera, and its rear element is NOT recessed, as in a Rostow finder.
When my Left eye goes to the R/F for focusing, the grease on my forehead shmears up the rear of the finder... just about every time! I need a solution for getting the finder 4-5mm forward. There is plenty of space on the top plate for this.
Here's one idea: Adapt a shoe from another camera [saved for parts] or a flash bracket... to slide into the Bessa or Fed shoe. Position it 4-5mm forward; then the dedicated finder can go just a bit higher up and forward, away from my forehead.
Any other ideas? Let's hear ;-)
