I found some 4x4 mounted slides from my Dads stash of slides I inherited...
I guess from 127 film with 4x4 square image area

They do fit in the 35mm Epson Slide Holder, but, because the opening was made for 35mm slides,
the corners of the 4x4 holder opening has corners that make a 35mm H or V opening of 24x36 (well more like 21x32 for scanning a mounted 35mm slide.).
The 4x4 slides has for dark corners from the 35mm template.
Also, some of the slides are not scanned of the full 4x4 area
IE: a random 4x4 may be scanned as a 35mm slide as far the area covered by the scanner.

These are the Epson supplied holders, so there is a coded "hole" area at the top of the holder.
Can I cover one of the "code holes" to just scan the whole 4x4 area?

My question is this:
Does anyone make a Slide holder for 4x4 mounted slides for the Epson v700?

I tried blocking the middle 3 (in Pink below) "code holes" to see what happened...
It scanned the full 4x4 area as 12 separate images!

The holes are arranged like this....

.............................**
...........................*

|. *......... *.| .*...........*.| .*............. * |

Still, maybe buy another 35mm slide holder and shave off the insert corners in each slide opening to have a full 4x4 opening...

This would allow the batch scan function to stay in tact.

I lust lay my slides down on the glass and not mess with any holders. Sometimes I use quarter coins on the corners to hold them down and from moving around when I lower the lid.

I will have to try that..Though, the V700 has no focus plane adjustment as the V750/850 has. Hopefully, it is in focus from the glass up to film mounted in the slide mount a few mm's up.

Actually, the V700, V750, V800 and V850 all use the same two fixed focus lens system that does not have active focusing capabilities. The 750 and 850 have an additional coating on the lenses although opinions vary on what, if any, appreciable real-world benefit this coating produces.
