I finally got my film back from my vacation in Florida last month. I've posted a few quick scans from the prints as I don't have a medium format transparency/negative adapter. The scans were from 4" x 6" Portra 160NC and Fuji NPH 400 prints at 1200 dpi from an Epson Perfection 2580 Photo flatbed scanner. Interested parties may view them in my gallery (link in my signature) and, as always, comments/feedback here or in the gallery are welcome although I may not always respond to each and every one.

My thoughts on this camera as a vacation/travel camera now that I've seen the prints?

WOW! Had I seen these prints before I bought my new Sigma SLR, I probably wouldn't have made that purchase... medium format ROCKS! Well worth the slight inconvenience of carrying a larger camera but nowhere near the burden of an SLR outfit.

Seriously, this camera produced some fabulous results, the scans really don't do the prints justice. A good number of my Fuji prints were slightly off and seemed underexposed, although whether that was me not metering on what I thought I was or the fact that my Fuji film was expired, I couldn't say. I'm betting on me not metering correctly as my last roll had everything perfectly exposed except for one frame that I knew I'd messed up on. Interesting tidbit: of three rolls shot in Florida with this camera, about 50% of the exposures were keepers and I also made an embarassing number of lens cap shots. Oh well, all part of learning a new camera... :bang:
