Heading off to Vietnam and Cambodia with girlfriend in a week or two for three weeks.

I've got plenty of bulk rolls of 35mm film, but only a dozen or so cartridges.

Don't have much 120 film at all.

Will be spending the most time in Vietnam, heading up and down most of the country.

Is it easy to find (silver, maybe C41) film, especially 120, and not pay a fortune? I assume my best chances will be in Hanoi or Saigon.

Cheers.

There might be a few places in Saigon or Hanoi to find C-41 120, but I've not seen it. 35mm is no big deal, but I'd want to bring film with you. In Cambodia you'll be SOL. I just got back from shooting in Cambodia. You'll have a great time. Try to get up to Anlong Veng to see some wicked stuff including Preah Vihear.

Fuji pro lab in Saigon (Nam Ky Khoi Nghia & Le Thanh Ton corner) sells C41-120. if I remember correctly they have Portra, Fuji Pro colour and few other things. Price is about ±120.000 Vietnam Dong (~6 dollars) for a 120 roll.
Have a good trip!

Many thanks for your advice. I may just have to bring some with me! I'll seek out that pro-lab if I run out (Saigon will be the last place we hit, 4 days or something there over Chinese New Year, so should be an interesting place, especially for colour!).

Cheers!

I would never go on vacation without hitting the road loaded with film if analogue shooter. Looking for photo store is not my idea of vacation YMMV.

Quite right. However if there's a photo store on every corner with film (like Hong Kong) then it's a different matter. Interested to find out the options and see where to go if there's an emergency :)
