Wow. That's all I can say is "wow", after looking at your pics. Such an interesting variety of subject matter, and a great "feel" to your photos.
I was in Vietnam last year (July 2009), but after seeing your photos I really want to go back! It was a challenging trip, wife + 2 small kids. My daughter (age 8) particularly didn't like the heat / humidity / pollution. Still, Vietnam was a fascinating place to visit.
BTW I agree -- Hanoi was pretty OK, Ha Long Bay was a major disappointment. Hoi An was interesting (got a suit made, of course) ... particularly liked Da Lat, although maybe that's because it reminded me a lot of Canada LOL!
Anyways, great pics -- thanks a lot for sharing.

BTW how on earth did you ever come across a Catholic procession? I mean, I saw the old Catholic church in downtown Hanoi when I was there, but never saw anyone actually around it.

The church at Phat Diem is the most important to all Catholics in the North. I was visiting it and just by chance this once a year ceremony happened the same day I was there. I was lucky beyond belief.

I had my wife as well as my 3- and 2-year-olds on this trip. It was tough. I didn't get to shoot anywhere near as much as I wanted. Traveling is good for everyone, especially kids. Thanks for the checking out the thread and my pictures!Wow. That's all I can say is "wow", after looking at your pics.
