Viewfinder not accurate

Hi there,

When I centre my images through the viewfinder they seem to come out off centre.

Could anyone advice me as to why this might be happening?

What camera, what viewfinder? In the picture above, how did you intend to frame the shot?

Parallax Error.
Because you're shooting at a close distance, what you see through the viewfinder and what the lens is actually seeing is slightly different. This is because there is the horizontal distance between the viewfinder and the lens.

Is this a problem at infinite? Nope. Just when you're shooting up close you have to compensate for the difference.

It would be easier to tell if the photo wasn't displayed at such a large size. 800 a side is big enough.

Thanks for the help! I will try and aim slightly to the left of my subject to counteract the problem.
