Hello, I've cleaned an old external finder VIOOH (or IMARECT in the U.S.), and I found that I can't reassemble it quite right. The problem is that as far everything is quite straightforward, and the reassembling is done in a minute (two screws inside and four outside), the finder is now clean but BLURRED. I mean, "out of focus". I think I have "screwed" something inside that focuses it, but, as I said, there are only 6 screws inside of it, I just can't imagine what went wrong. Anyone can help me please?
Thank you,
ciao
Andrea

I haven't had to service my VIOOH - but have serviced a Soviet KMZ multifinder. So, this is just a guess. - Is it possible reinstall one of the optics backwards?

I did my VIOOH and think the same thing.

I kept careful notes when I cleaned my VIOOH. No problems.

Well I didn't. Not because of laziness, but because, after removing the 4 external screws, I found that there was only two other screws to retain the prism. And so I thought there was not much to get bad: only three part, the housing, the back and the prism...I've checked, only one sense to put the prism, so it's the right way...I suspect to have misaligned the distance between the prism and the housing, maybe touching the prism to clean it..or maybe one drop of alcohol has found its way to the front lens, maybe the front lens is actually made of two lenses and the liquid has reached the contact surfaces...I will let you know....
thank you everybody

Well, I have reassembled the viooh..well it's not the way I remember it, but it's not so bad. In the light of the day it's way much better than indoor, I suppose that my eyes are well, "stopping down" in the daylight, so I have a better DOF. I will use it as is now. Maybe if I find a good one on ebay for less than 40 euro, I will sell mine for parts.
(I say "if" but I know I will do it, because the viooh is one the best leica accessory for me, I like the black frame edges in focus and the sense of "cinemascreen". For me it's a must for composing)
ciao
