Anyone going there this year by any chance?

I'm starting to give this a serious consideration, as the type of photography interests me immensely and Visa is of course a goldmine for that. I'm wondering, if anyone experienced there knows if I should expect scarce availability of reasonably priced accommodation in Perpignan/vicinity at this time? I'm exploring any chances of having some connections there at the moment, but the surest way is simply to leg it there and find a place to crash for two nights or three.
Man, I wish I could trade my trip to Photokina this year for this :bang:

I just came back from camping at Rencontres Arles, due to leaving it much too late to book a cheap hotel, but have also camped in various places across France for decades. If there are no handy small hotels or bed-and-breakfast places then Perpignan has (or had, I last used it in 1985!) a very nice town campsite next to the beach ! Ok, that's a bit silly as it was so long ago, but if there is nothing available online, and nothing after ringing the local tourist-office, then camping should be a reasonable option.

Will you travel by one of the cheapy airlines, or drive, or ??

Thanks for the tip. I'll either fly or train it, depending on options, unless someone with wheels and photography in mind decides to drive there (in which case camping would be more realistic). I don't want to count on it, but very faint chance is work might decide they can miss me for a few days and support that trip, but they know that would be much bigger win for me than them, so doubtful 🙂
I know that it's a big enough event to take up some resources from such city in such season, so I'm not immediately taking the trip for granted as I would otherwise, just starting to check.
