Visioflex on M8?

I think you need a certain one- look at some back issues of LFI there was a very complete article about Visoflex on the M8 a few months back.

The Visoflex III with it's 90° prism finder fits perfectly.

The Visoflex II with it's 90° prism finder won't clear the top of the M8 - will fit if used with the Visoflex III 90° prism finder, though.

The Visoflex 3 has the automatic return mirror, not the one you have to work
with the lever, and a button on the side with a red, yellow and black dot on it.
The prism type 2 has a step on the bottom, the type 3 (which will fit the Visoflex 2 and make it suitable for the M8) is flat.

Also it has a rotating type camera mount that will enable you to fit it without having to lift the lever.

I have a III, but the mirror does not return automatically in either setting. It returns at the same speed as you let up on the arm after the exposure. The only diff between black and yellow is that in yellow the mirror snaps up at the end of the arm travel, just before shutter fire. Is this correct operation?

Yes - they can be found but are not very common. Expect to pay as much as for a Visoflex3. Not very practical for handheld, as they switch left and right.

Yes- that is why I said automatic return instead of quick-return. On the Visoflex2 one must reset the mirror by a separate lever. And the operation as you describe is correct. One can choose beween soft mirror-up and fast mirror-up.

Beware of 'VCCC' the Visoflex Compulsive Collection Condition.

Far worse than GAS and results in the use of a weird vocabulary of unpronouncable names. Mind you, the stuff is cheap!

Does anyone have the Visoflex 'tube' suitable for the 560mm 6.8 'long' Telyt?

I have a Leicaflex/R sized one if anyone is interested in some sort of exchange...or whatever.
