Visoflex 3 on an MP

I have a new MP, and just dug out my old Visoflex III, which I haven't used in years. (Hmm, don't still have any lenses that will work on the Visoflex--focusing to infinity, that is.) But I did try to fit the contraption on the MP, and it doesn't go. The "lips" on the top of the hotshoe are too high for the prism part.

Is this normal? I was under the impression that the "recent" non-TTL M's (e.g. M6) should take a Visoflex (2 or 3).

Not an important issue for me, as I wasn't planning to use it in the near term. But I am curious--should it work?

Hello,

after studying my literature i have to say: yes, it works. All non-TTL-M´s have the possibility to take the Visoflex III on their shoulder.

Greetings,
Bully

I have a Viso III and MP and there is no problem. I've also tried it on an M5, which is a bit taller, and it also works with an adjustment of the Viso shutter release.

For what it is worth Viso III does work on M6TTL so should work on most things BUT...

...and there is always a but...

You must have the viewfinder with the completely flat base that came with Viso III.

The Viso II viewfinder has a step in it that means it does not clear the top of the camera.

I think even a Viso II with the finder from a Viso III would work.

Shame really because the Viso II is a nice compact thing and the Viso III is noticeably more bulky.

Hmm, I must have a III with a II prism. I bought it used years ago, but my finder/prism has a step in it. It's clearly a III mirror box.

Oh well, I guess I'll need to find a III prism if I ever want to use it.

Thanks for the info.
