Hi, recently bought this vitessa with ultron lens, as i was carrying a xp2 cartridge i start shooting immediatelly!
No lightmeter and have to take sunny 16 rule deep inside my brain, guess it wasn´t that rusted!!
Please comment on my pics!
I´m very happy about this lens.
Later that same afternoon the shutter broke down, and i´m searching for a donnor on ebay!

Cheers!

Nicely atmospheric pictures.

The Ultron was one of the greatest 50mm lenses of its day.
The camera's eccentric ergonomics were rather more debatable though...

Regards,
D.

The Ultron was one of the greatest 50mm lenses of its day.

Still holds up rather nicely even today.

The camera's eccentric ergonomics were rather more debatable though...

Its ergonomics are part of its immense charm, and its eccentricities factor into its relatively undervalued status. Bomb doors and smokestack. Think of a high-maintenance ex: immensely interesting, whether or not worth the candle is up to you.

Thanks!

Thanks!

Hi folks, thanks for your comments!

Today i sent the shutter for repair, hope it has!

I´m in love with collapsible lenses, this vitessa has it all for me, it´s eccentric features are ok, but the only thing bothers me a little is the focusing method.
I believe this camera will see a lot of action!:D

Have you noticed how nice is the dof scale?, very easy to hyperfocal!

Bye!

It's my favorite too for the past couple of years. But I actually find the ergonomics very good; I wonder why the beacon plunger went out of fashion. You use different hands to advance the film and to release the shutter; this allows you to make action shots in rapid succession unlike any other rangefinder. That is, however, not the application where this camera would be first choice of equipment today. Still, I like the ergonomics.

The only complaint is that the viewfinder was not one of the brightest even in its day.

Oh yeah, you also can't hold the coffee in one hand while shooting with the other.
