Vito B non working shutter

I have owned a Voigtlander Vito B in the past and really like the Skopar lens, I picked up another today in cosmetic mint condition. Now I realise that a lot of people do not realise that a vito needs to be loaded with film in order to get allow the shutter to trip. Well I loaded my example with a film and a though the tension of the film allows the shutter button to be depressed all I get is a 'soft spring' noise, that does not change its note no matter what setting it is on and no vivble movement of the shutter.

I'm gutted, does anyone know where I can get the vito pronto shutter serviced in the uk

Had a similar issue before with a Vito B, but fiddling with the "film sensor" on the top edge of the film gate to "synch" with the wind lever eventually fired the shutter. It's been working ever since.

the cogged wheel actually turns and clicks and allows the sshutter to be fired but just a soft spring 'noise occurs, could you give more detail regarding how you fixed your vito problem

I have used Newton Ellis in Liverpool to repair my Olympus 35RC and my Rollei B35, to my complete satisfaction. I'm sure they'd be able to sort out your Vito B. I know I'd send them mine if it ever needed work - absolutely fabulous cameras, I think.

many thanks will give them a Rc and the 35 B, the Oly 35RC is my all time favourite camera

Sorry for the late reply, just checked in...anyway, I turned the cogged wheel in synch with the lever wind until there was resistance and the shutter cocked. Then I loaded a dummy roll to make sure it fired at all speeds. The actual test roll came out fine.
