Vivitar 292

Have an old Vivitar 292 Flash that i used to use with my IIIf. I am trying to get it going again but the battery is dead and will not recharge does anyone know of a place to buy a new one or where i might get it recelled?

Places will open up the pack and put new rechargeables into it.

I would think a 283 or 285 would be cheaper. I also have a 292. Same thing; I get a few shots out of the pack. Great flash, better balanced that the 283. One of my "projects" to replace the cells. I paid a total of $20 for it over 12 years ago.

I have a Vivitar 292 that I repaired recently. All it needs at the moment is new NiCad batterries. It seems that when the NiCad batteries deteriorate, they present an overload on the charge transformer thus burning out the primary winding. I have replaced the transformer although replacement transformers are NOT available from VIVitar. The flash works exceedingly well with new NiCad batteries.
