😎 Below is a small thumbnail of the first shot from a Vivitar 35 ES I recently received. It is in fantastic shape and I am impressed with the overall finish. It is a joy to use and quite intuitive. Anyone else use these? Does anyone have a lead on a manual or where to get a lens hood that doesn't block the viewfinder?

yep, I've got one (as Richard already knew).. it's a lot of fun to use

as for a lens hood.. that's sort of a problem because the rangefinder window is situated right over the lens barrel.. I originally bought a collapsible rubber hood for mine, but it totally wiped out the RF patch.. I could have cut the hood, I suppose, but I didn't feel like doing that.. so I found a 49mm rectangular hood that works.. it's an old Takumar hood for 35mm lens.. the thread size is 49mm so it fits perfectly.. I just got it a few days ago, so I don't have any photos taken with it yet.. but I can say that it just barely clears the RF patch

I'd bet that a Hassy XPan hood would work the same, but those are big bucks

as a guess, I'd say this one might work...

Russ is a big fan of the Vivitar 35 ES and is quite knowledgeable on them. He's been online recently, I think the 15th or so. You might send him a PM.
