I see that you already have the finder combo, but if you want a Universal Wide Angle finder, just wait for the 15-35mm viewfinder from CV that can be a good option.
I used to have the Frankenfinder for the R-D1s and my Bessas one year ago, too much money and too big for me. In my personal opinion, the principal problem is that I feel this finder was designed for Leica M cameras and the R-D1 have a different height, so you will feel a little problems with framing. This was the reason for me to sell it, I still waiting for the CV finder.

I'm building myself a ready case and would like to make room for a CV15 v.2.
From the specs and a guess I came up these figures (rounded up to the nearest millimeter):
Øa = 60 mm.
Øb = 53 mm.
Ha = 39 mm.
Hb = ???
Could someone verify these numbers and provide the missing "Hb" measurement, please?
Edit: actually It would be nice to know the height of the aperture-ring combined with both the tall (the "Hb" measure) and the low part of the shade (we could call it "Hc") - thanks

Thanks for the info. How does the Leica zoom finder fit with precise framing of the 15 Heliar on the R-D1?

I feel that the framing was a little bit upper and quite small because the Leica Frankenfinder was designed for Leica M cameras. I wish to have it to show you how looks and post some framing pics on the R-D1.
I know that is difficult to view with a perfect accuracy, but if we talk about a super wide angle lens, maybe 1mm is not important. If you have the R-D1 and the 21mm CV finder, they will be ok. Just remember that 15mm means in the R-D1 23mm. For me is more important that the framing is in the center, the CV finder are more accurate in the Bessas and also in the R-D1 because they share some body characteristics.

I wish, I could find a shop, where I could try the finder or even find a shop, which will sell it without the Tri Elmar.
Chances seem close to 0 in Shanghai for this to happen though.
My idea about the F-finder is actually about economic reasoning and the reported supremacy of framing and clarity. I don't want to spend the same money on several lesser finders and carry them all for each different lens, but have one item, that works better for all.
