O.K. - self-imposed hiatus aside for a moment. "Better corner performance". I'd highly recommend subscribing to Sean's site for the full review. (Vermonters always support other Vermonters commerce.) If I remember correctly, as with any lens review, Sean did make a point that multiple examples of the lenses are needed to really judge if there's a performance improvement with the"P" version.
Ya know - I really wish I had of gotten the freebie finder and the lens hood on the "P" version is nasty. If I was going to see an M8 in the near future I would have thought twice as the Milich adapters won't obviously function with an M-mount but the "P" is working for me just like I'm hearing the LTM is for others so "WTF", if the images we're getting are what we're looking for then that's all that really matters. (I think.)

Interesting! So he put it down to lens variation more than anything else? I remember hearing similar remarks with the Voigtlander 35 f2.5 classic and the PII. But if i remember correctly although the basic optical formula was the same some tweaking of performance had been made to improve it. That may be the case with the 21 as well possibly?

I'm stoked! I just ordered a 21mm ltm lens with finder from Stephen Gandy. All my RF camera and lens purchases to date have been used. This is my first new RF lens buy. (My only other new RF purchases have been a CV50 finder, and a CV meterII.)

Yup. LTM lenses are the way to go- talk about maximum compatiblity. It was great to see Mr. K bring them back, and it'll be sad to see them go again. Get 'em while you can.

I just recently bought a CV21 from CameraQuest - the LTM version with finder. The numbers are there: cost of each lens, cost of an M adaptor, cost of viewfinder. Do the math.

As far as I am aware, the 25 has been discontinued as have the 28 and 35 Ultrons but the 21 LTM has not. I am with Frank and the others and just bought the LTM version. Even with the adapter, it was still quite a lot cheaper than the M version and it has the finder included! I can't see any purpose in upgrading or getting the LTM one unless it is that important to have all your lenses lookin the same or you can't get by with the "stick" focus lever rather than the Leica type tab.

Frank S: good move you will love this lens. I have it permantly mounted on a Leica 111F and the finder is also great. The lens seems made to be used on a small scremount camera. With the vast depth of field, its really a point and shoot . I was amazed at how sharp this lens is, and I have compared it to the Leica 21 f2.8 pre ash. I like the vc21 better due to size of lens. And at f8 there really is no difference in quailty of image.
