All the best,

Thanks ever so much for your response and useful info. I have one more question if you might have some preliminary thoughts. my question will be simplified to keep it basic. Say at a mid distance range to subject, with the Zeiss set to f2.8 (wide open)….how would it compare both centrally as well along the sides/edges of the frame to the new VC 21mm when tis used both wide open and at f2.8. Any info to some of this would be important to my potential use of the new VC 21mm. Thanks again Bill!

I have done some non-scientific lens tests in the past, but I never did any direct comparisons between these two lenses as I didn't own them at the same time. Typically if I don't use a lens, or if the lens doesn't work for me for some reason, I get rid of it.

However, the Zeiss was indeed a sharp lens. My only issue with it was that it rendered with too much contrast. I have no idea which of these two lenses would be sharper edge-to-edge.

My first shot of the day. I call it my warm up shot!
