Voigtlander 35mm 1.2 and 50cm close focus distance

Hello RFF,

I just wanted to find out from those who use the V2 of the VC 35mm Nokton f1.2, on a film rangefinder camera does the fact that the lens will come closer than the RF mechanism causes problems to you or not?

I have the opportunity to get one of these at a decent price but I'm hesitating because of this whether I should wait until a V1 comes up, because V1 stops at the right distance on a film Leica =)

Not really a problem if you're aware of it while using the lens... Some Zeiss ZM lenses also focus very close, say .5m. Of course fine when focusing with "live view". For me, the only time it becomes awkward on an RF is when you want to use minimum focus distance, crank the lens all the way 'round to the minimum and then move the camera until the subject is in focus... oops! Solution: Refocus the lens until you see the RF patch move and stop there, then move the camera until the subject is in focus according to the RF.

If you choose to use the minimum focus distance a lot, then a lens that stops near the body's minimum is more convenient.
