The more I look at photos I get from my Nokton 40, the more it reminds me of Summicron Rigid I used to have, just with more flare control and maybe not quite as sharp.

This thread seems to be sleeping, time for some coffee.
Not to talk too much wet stuff, but I've found my true love: HP5+ @800 and D-76.

I like the results from this little lens as well as its looks and diminutive size/weight, although frankly I am not too fond of its handling and focusing. I guess I've struggled getting used to tab focusing. All shot with my R3A:

This is the SC version on my Oly EP2. Seems to me that the lens has more of that desaturated single-coating character on u4/3...

One of my favourite shots of late, taken on Rollei Pan 25 film, in Whitstable Harbour. If it wasn't for the modern cars and buildings at the back, this would to me have a timeless quality, and I especially love how the shadow detail's been caught.

All taken with my R3M and the CV 40mm f1.4 Nokton SC:

I recently purchased the S.C. version of this lens from the classified. The following shots are taken from the very first test roll. I was unsure about the focusing tab at the beginning, but now I got used to it and focussing is really quick.

Nice images everyone... very inspiring and makes me want to get out there and shoot...

Wolfpeterson, I guess it's fun teaching the girlfriend to focus with a RF :)

Slightly off track, but does anyone have a problem with this lens binding as it is focused? I have an early MC one and if I try to focus with just the tab, it binds. It works fine with two fingers. Any suggestions?

I'm reminded that the first run of 500 copies of the MC version were quickly sold out in Japan but there were complaints of stiff focusing. There was some discussion about it here as I recall, so a search should dig up the threads. Some reported that they'd "exercise" the focusing while sitting watching TV and the focusing action eventually eased up.

I had previously taken a photo of her from the other side of the table, so it was already focused.

Right before she took the photo, she said: "This is the one where you press half way to focus, right?", mistaking my bessa for the GR1s
