This is Kodak Tri-X 400 developed in HC110, not bad, huh?
 
Love this lens, it's pretty much (for me) a perfect all-around lens. Pics were posted on another thread.

All taken with the MC version of the lens, and Ektar 100.

Silent1, you have taken many shots that show great bokeh from the Nokton that others have not been successful in achieving. Is it a distance thing?
 
That really does look very nice! Nice separation, lovely background.

Thanks Double Negative, the background looks like a poster or a painting but was - in fact - a real airplane!

I'm not sure whether or not close distance to subject helps in achieving a nice bokeh. Of course the closer is your subject the blurrier will be your background, but in my personal experience I'm quite satisfied with 40mm's bokeh in most situations: I've never seen those infamous double-edged blurred objects in the background, and the shiny edges in circular out-of-focus point of lights are no worse than - say - my Summicron 50mm.
