Voigtlander 40mm S.C. vs MC

Thanks for posting this Ben
for me - B/W shots are more helpful to me when viewing lens performance .
Looks like a 35 lux you have there.
how do you feel it compares with that?

I just got back my first roll taken with the MC Nokton 40 -- very pleased with the results. (A roll of plebian Walgreens/Agfa 200 in an R3A.) But lovely color rendition and nice bokeh indeed. I am looking forward to using this lens a lot.

A test photo using the Nokton 40mm lens of another camera, and now we're getting onto discussing the lens on the other camera!

This is just too sad for a Friday evening.

Well, if you sent me a 35 'Lux to play with, I might be able to tell you! Alas, I've never even SEEN one.

so what's that on the M4-P then? looks very much like an early lux hood

sorry Jon maybe i am a very sad person - clearly that's why i posted the question?

Play in this sandpit Simon.

And if you find out what sort of strap is on that M4-P let me know. It looks like the second version of the factory strap, but it may just be the third version...

i'd love to Jon but my it's past my bedtime now and my mums calling me in 😀
surely sockeyed can describe the type of shot and the even lens as he took the picture in the first place! 🙂

I should have never taken a picture of a camera/lens to illustrate the qualities of another camera/lens.

The lens in the picture is the CV 35/2.5 Pankcake II with the CV LH-4 hood. I'm afraid that I can't tell you about the strap. Heck, it's not even my M4-P, it's borrowed. The lens is mine, though. It's an excellent lens too.

Thanks for clarifying this sockeyed 🙂

As I understand it the SC was originally a 1000 limited edition for the JP market. It sold out, but was later reintroduced as a regular production item available worldwide.

I was surprised to see that the SC is more expensive than the MC at CameraQuest, because at Robert White they are both the same price: £234. Although that works out more expensive in USD than CameraQuest anyway.

For those of you that have't seen Alan Soon's Vietnam photograhs

http://monsoonphoto.net/

You might be interested to know that Alan was using the single coated version of the 40/1.4 lens with B/W film - great shots.
