Excellent work, Slumgullion! Marvelous.

Wide open the f1 lens is marvellous, stopped down a bit shows the diaphragm blades around the highlights in the background, not so nice. It is better to use the lens wide open when there are highlights in the background, IMO.

I agree with you. This is also how I use this lens. It is great for open shade and wide open aperture. Butter smooth OOF.

It is not the ISO settings that make some people buy the 50/1. It is OOF rendtion when used wide open at 1.0 aperture.

Yes, in relation to the sharpness! When there is no sharpness, a beautiful OOF rendition is useless.

Yes, I must say that I like how the lens draws. This is with the Nokton 50mm f1.1. I like that lens too. That lens is underrated IMO.
