I figured I might as well kick off this page since I think it will be a regular on many M's
I had a few shots left on a roll of HP5 I wanted to develop (HC110 1+47), so I mounted this lens on there. The dog is on the M246

Wow. That rendering is something else. I wonder how the rendering compares with the current 50/1.2? The APO should be more technically perfect, in theory.

Lovely demo shots Chris and Tim. Looks a sweet lens!
Tim, I reckon there's no such thing as "just a cat". Cats always know they dominate any picture

I agree, very nice rendering with this lens and judging by the subjects above (skeleton notwithstanding) not a threatening profile to dogs, cats or kids either!

Wow, looks really good so far, including on the HP5. Can't say I'm surprised but the rendering is very pleasant.

Wow. The level of detail reminds me of a Hasselblad on Tri-X from back in the day. The texture of the dog's hair is quite amazing. You can count the hairs!

Brought the new toy to work to test it wide open. Pretty impressive in my eyes.

Yes, it does seem creamy, especially for an aspherical!

It appears to share the ultra-high MTF performance of the Leica 50 APO in that stopping down adds depth of field and little else.
Y'all might find it set to f/2 most of the time.

What is your initial assessment of the lens, Brian?
It is then this: "If you want a lens that is sharp and well-behaved, this is it. At the price- just amazing. This is a solidly built lens. I've shot with Cosina lenses for over 50 years now. This is the best one yet."

This lens is highly-corrected, well-made, well-balanced, and smooth as butter in use.
