Wow. That rendering is something else. I wonder how the rendering compares with the current 50/1.2? The APO should be more technically perfect, in theory.

Lovely demo shots Chris and Tim. Looks a sweet lens!

Tim, I reckon there's no such thing as "just a cat". Cats always know they dominate any picture :)

I agree, very nice rendering with this lens and judging by the subjects above (skeleton notwithstanding) not a threatening profile to dogs, cats or kids either!

Wow, looks really good so far, including on the HP5. Can't say I'm surprised but the rendering is very pleasant.

Wow. The level of detail reminds me of a Hasselblad on Tri-X from back in the day. The texture of the dog's hair is quite amazing. You can count the hairs!

It appears to share the ultra-high MTF performance of the Leica 50 APO in that stopping down adds depth of field and little else.

Y'all might find it set to f/2 most of the time.

It's cold outside. Using the lens on the M9 today. I decided to use a Heliopan UV/IR filter to get rid of any IR leakage with the M9.

These are walking around the neighborhood and the back yard.

At F2-

And at F4-

At F2,

At F4,

And F2 again, deep in my backyard.

It's cold.

If you want a lens that is sharp and well-behaved, this is it. At the price- just amazing. This is a solidly built lens. I've shot with Cosina lenses for over 50 years now. This is the best one yet.

What is your initial assessment of the lens, Brian?

It is then this: "If you want a lens that is sharp and well-behaved, this is it. At the price- just amazing. This is a solidly built lens. I've shot with Cosina lenses for over 50 years now. This is the best one yet."
