I gave just placed the lens on the M10.
I will stop at Joe Patti’s for some first test shots.
I used several extension rings as the lens shade until I receive a real lens hood.

You are welcome, this is a great lens.

We're supposed to get snow tomorrow- so maybe some snow covered scenes coming up.

More from work

I'm really impressed. Im hitting focus rather easily and I cannot believe how it behaves at f2. Pleasantly surprised with the smoothness of the Bokeh. This may stay on my M246 for some time

I drove to Joe Patti's Seafood just before sunset yesterday. I set the M10 to AUTO with ISO 200 and I set the CV APO to aperture 2.0. It was a quick (first) testing of the lens for a scene that I have photographed hundreds of times before.

I uploaded the images to LR5, followed by a direct conversion to jpg. This was not the time for doing any PS adjustings.

@ Raid: they seem good to be a quick test. I like the colours in the first photo and the out of focus sky in the second.
I'm sure you'll be satisfied with this lens!

Hi Robert. I am planning to leave the new lens on my M10 for a while so that I can explore the qualities of the lens even though we have limited mobility at times.

I miss Florida...

And will not miss this...

Driveway: F4

Not as bad is it looks- I use a Leaf Blower to get the first tracks cut.

Still Snowing. At least we don't have to worry about driving to work.

I stopped missing the snow, Brian. I used to love being in places with lots of snow. I guess, it is a different type of beauty. It is just too cold for me!

The snow provides a great photography opportunity, though, as you have shown here.

Raid, Brian & others...thanks ever so much for posting. What would be helpful at this early stage is if you could mention the f-stop used in each photo...otherwise hard to judge certain characteristics.

I would love a 3 way comparison (controlled test) of this APo lens vs. the VA 50mm f1.2 and the new VC 50mm f1.2 II.

As for snow, I love it and the photographic potential and am sort of in Brian's neck of the words (we actually met a few times at local camera shows and briefly spoke). As for dealing with snow in everyday life, I could use some of Raid's Floridian warmth and while there have some seafood :)

I stated in my post that I set the lens to f 2. The high temperature today is 70F.
No heating or cooling is needed. We will have several nights this week with lows around F35.

Put in F2 and F4- which is my normal for a test, wide-open and at F4.

The full-res JPEGS are uploaded to imgbb.

The EXIF is close, figure if it lists "F2.4" it's really F2, and F3.4 and above- F4.

I have the 50/1.5 Nokton V2 in the bag with the APO-Lanthar. Now need some cooperation from the weather.

In my photos the colors were expected to be on the cool side due to the time of the day and the presence of many clouds in the sky. I will take some photos during sunshine with blue sky.

The pictures taken outside today- during the snowfall. Everything was muted.

Wide-Open. Good thing I put off taking the Christmas Tree down... And now everyone knows I put SpongeBob decorations on it...
This lens has good contrast, as shown by the pictures in full Winter sun. Not too many colors outside.

Looking at this image- I think the colors can be described as "accurate".
